Irish Traditional Music from the Mid-Atlantic
Tidewater is built around Billy McComiskey on button accordion, Laura Byrne on flute, Donna Long on piano and Joanna Clare on fiddle, four accomplished musicians connected by decades of friendship, mentorship, performance and shared musical history. Traditional singers Eileen Estes and David McKindley-Ward are an integral part of the Tidewater sound, bringing songs into the mix alongside the band's rich repertoire of tunes. Other outstanding regional musicians also join the ensemble on occasion. Deeply rooted in Baltimore's Irish traditional music community, the band reflects a remarkable legacy shaped by generations of musicians, teachers, and collaborators who have helped make Maryland an important home for Irish traditional music.
